Sturla Holm Laegreid is a 26 year old Norwegian biathlete. He is part of the Norwegian Biathlon Elite Team, and have been so since May 2020. He had his first debut in World Cup in March 2020, when he raced the last four races of the World Cup season. Out of the 60 shots he fired, he only missed once, and his best place was a 10th.

In season 20/21 Sturla made his big breakthrough. He entered the World Cup with great style, winning the first race of the season and claiming his first ever World Cup victory. He continued to shock the biathlon world by taking several more podiums and victories.

In the 2021 World Championships in Pokjluka he claimed 4 gold medals in the disciplines Mixed Relay, Individual, Men’s Relay and Mass Start.

After an exiting battle with Johannes Boe, Sturla ended up in 2nd in the 20/21 World Cup Total Score. Sturla claimed however 3 smaller globes: the Individual Globe, the Pursuit Globe and the U25 Globe.

In the season 2021/2022 Sturla claimed two more victories, one in Individual in Oestersund, and one in Sprint in Holmenkollen. He also claimed an Olympic Gold medal in Relay. In the end he finished 2nd in the totalt score, and he won the U25 award for the second time in his career.

Season 2022/2023 proved to be yet another feat! Being the close runner up, Sturla claimed 15 podiums, where 1 was a victory, and he ended the World championship with 5 medals. And once again the 2nd place in the overall World Cup Totalscore was his for the taking.
